The Buettner's, Charles (Chuck), Janna and their three children are missionaries to the Baltimore Rescue Mission which has been reaching out to the poor of inner-city Baltimore since 1956. The BRM is a Christian, non-profit, non-denominational Gospel Ministry. It's primary objective is the evangelization of every person who enters the mission. Secondly, their goal is to provide food, clothing, shelter, and medical assistance, as well as five day drug and alcohol detox.

The Mission is a faith-operated rescue mission, relyintg on the Lord's provision. The mission receivfes no government funding or surplus foods, charges nothing to th epeople who come (regardless of the lenght of stay), and has no clothing store, but rather gives away freely all donated clothing. God supports the mission through churches and individulals, in answer to the prayer of faith.
