The Weber's, Ron, Kathleen and their 5 children are serving as missionaries to Brazil. They arrived in Brazil in 1974 and God has richly blessed his Word. They have been instumental in starting or picking up a struggling work and bringing it to self supporting in seven churches, all of which have national pastors. God has also used them to hold evangelistic meetings once a month in different churches. They speak at camps frequenlty and Kathleen has also spoken often for ladies events.

Ron was saved when he was almost 12 years old through the Awana and youth programs. When he graduated high school he had a scholarship to play basketball for a state university. But God had other plans, he tore the ligaments in his knee two weeks before the first game and rebelled from God. A few months later he was in a serious car accident, and thrown from the car. His Pastor talked with him about how God might be speaking to him to go to Seminary. He gave up his scholarship and went to Bob Jones University. God worked in his life and the 2nd year he changed his major from Math to Bible. During a missionary chapel service on Saturday morning, God spoke to Ron thru a missionary from Brazil and he dedicated his life to missions. God confirmed that call when he met a missionary from Brazil, Kathleen Johnson, (now his wife) whose parents are still active in Brazil at the age of 85 and 80.

Kathleen, although born in the U.S., grew up in Brazil when he parents went to Brazil on a ship in 1954. She was 5 years old. She learned the language by playing with other children, listening to church services. During her first year in Brazil Kathleen's mother led her to the Lord and at the age of 12, at a junior camp, she dedicated her life to the Lord. After high school, Kathleen dedicated herself to teaching Bible clubs and working with Brazilians before going to study at Bob Jones Univesity. The rest is history of another story. Needless to say she and Ron met, were married and were called back to Brazil as Missionaries. The Lord even allowed them to return to the Northeastern part of Brazil where Kathleen grew up, so her accent is just like the people where they work.

The Weber's daughter, Kristina, 29, is married to a fine Christian Brazilian man, Julio. They are missionaries for Awana clubs in Northeast Brazil. There are only two Awana missionary couples for all of Brazil which is larger than the contenental US, not counting Hawaii and Alaska.

Elma is the Weber's second daughter and she is also married to a fine Christian man. The live in New Jersey. They are both active in their church and missions and have gone on short term missionaries to Africa. They have one child, Zachariah, who was 1 year old this past march.

Janice, their third daughter, is with them in Brazil. She is teaching Esther, the Weber's youngest child. Pray as she is seeking God's will for her life. She served two years as a short term missionary with ABWE in Portuagal. She has many talents and is looking for the dedicated Christian man to be her mate and serve the Lord.

The Weber's are scheduled for furlough in May 2004 and will live near Philadelphia, PA. They are looking forward to getting acquainted with our church, the Pastor and his family. They plan to return to Brazil in June 2005 an dbegin a ministry of traveling to small struggling churches to help get them on their feet, visiting with the people, providing SS materials and preaching evangelistic meetings and give counsel to strengthen the churches.

Please remember the Weber's in your prayers as they continue to spread the Gospel in Brazil. And get to know them when they are here on Furlough next year.
